Changes required

• Target branch (1.17.x/dev) to be refactored to prevent the formatter from exploding the code immensely.
  • Some refactors are already present in this PR, which will be ported separately.
• Eclipse JDT configuration to be adjusted for the old code style.
  • It is partially configured as is, but is not ready.
  • The intent with the tuning is to keep the disruption in the history at a minimum.
